Saints now have 3 wins out of 3 in their pre season friendlies. Following on from their midweek 4-0 victory at Farnborough, Two separate saints sides each scored 5 goals a piece on Saturday, beating Basingstoke 5-2, and Winchester 5-0. Now no one can get too carried away by these results against teams the academy players should beat on their own, but its good to see some goals go in and some playing minutes under the player’s belts. It was great to see Michael Svensson back in a saint’s shirt. Whether he can ever be the player he was after 4 years out of the game with injury, it remains to be seen, but even a ¾ Svensson, would be an asset in the championship. There have been some of our more experienced players missing from these warm up games, but we are not sure at the moment the reason why. Saganowski – one would think is having some more time off due to his Euro 2008 involvement. – Great season, the season before last, and looked impressive at the Euros, but last season was not the same player for us. Personally, I think I’d be depressed too, if I was left out for BWP. – 50/50 if he will stay or go. Rasiak – played in the first friendly, but was nowhere to be seen in the 2 friendlies on Saturday – no news of an injury or anything. IMO – could be a great asset if motivated and on form, so I hope there is a simple explanation. In truth I suspect that either he or John will go, depending on who we get an offer for first. – 50/50 Viafara – Seems just to be AWOL – great fan of his all action game, but passing and shooting let him down and don’t see him fitting in to the new set up. 90/10 that he will go. Skacel – Looks to be heading for the exit. Latest favourite to sign him is Ipswich. 90/10. Dyer – I guess other clubs interested in him are waiting on the outcome of any court case, before committing to offering him anything. 90/10 more to follow -
