SAINTS are finally hoping to make a statement on manager Nigel Pearson's future this week.

The boss has been left in a protracted state of Limbo Land ever since the final game of the 2007/08 season - which took place a month ago this coming Sunday!

He met Lowe and Wilde for the first time last Wednesday but has now gone on holiday with his family for the rest of this week.

Despite that, Saints say discussions are ongoing with Pearson and it is believed they are hoping to be able to make an announcement this week to try and allow things to move forward.

Once a manager is in place - be it Pearson or someone else - the job of sorting out the playing squad will then begin.
