10 man Charlton stun poor saints!
Del.icio.us!
As I left St Mary’s, the most worrying thing was that I wasn’t surprised by the events of the day.

I would have been disappointed with 1 point from a game that was there for the taking, but in the end we came away with Nothing!

Both sides had chances in the first 30 mins and it wouldn’t have been a surprise if it had been 3-3, but neither side took their opportunities and so it remained goalless until well into Injury time.

It wasn’t a great surprise to see a Charlton player sent off on 36 mins, the referee had made a rod for his own back by booking Ifil for a nothing challenge on a Charlton player and was fussy through out!,,,,,,Fussy with little things that is, but missing worse things such as 2 really dangerous challenges from Sodje when he flew feet high into the back of both Wright Philips and Stern John.. How HE stayed on the pitch was more of a mystery than his team-mate being sent off for seemingly much less!

Saints came out in the second half with the attitude that they only had to turn up and the points would be theirs……. And ended up paying dearly….

More to follow…………..
