Difficult to know what to say, after a performance like that.

It is not as though Coventry are world beaters, or played great football.
They just attacked our full backs, got the ball into the box, and got the rewards.

Saints as usual played some nice football at times, but lack any sort of penetration and our inexperience at the back was there for all to see.

The defence is a worry, as we seem to have any answers or new options.

But scoring goals is just as much as worry, as for all our neat football, it’s difficult to remember many “well worked” goals actually coming from this football in recent matches.

Last nights goal was down to anticipation on the part of Andrew Surman, who got his head on the end of a shot from BWP, that was going so far wide, it would have gone for a throw in.

The 5 goals scored before tonight consisted of 2 penalties, 1 own goal and 2 individual wonder strikes.

It seems there is not much we can do about personnel (although I still can’t work out why we keep signing more midfielders when we need some defenders). So, It looks like it has to be time for a re-think on the formation, as it is not yielding goals and is leaving our inexperienced full backs exposed.
